Audition Site
The most eye-catching feature at the audition site was an approximately eight-meter-high climbing wall, which proved to be the biggest challenge for all contestants. Conquering this wall required courage, perseverance, physical strength, and technique. There was also a simulated speed race, which, while not overly difficult, played a crucial role in determining whether contestants could advance to the Extreme Joy Journey, alongside the order in which they tackled the two challenges. Many contestants exhausted themselves on the climbing wall first, leaving them unable to complete the subsequent speed race and missing out on qualification.
It has been announced that online registration for the event is now open. Outdoor enthusiasts unable to attend the auditions in person can visit the official Toread website, click on the event’s dedicated page, and sign up by uploading a photo showcasing their bravery and sharing a personal message. They will also have the chance to compete in the upcoming playoffs against the 12 qualifiers selected from the auditions, vying for a coveted spot on the journey.
As the final stop of this year’s campaign, the event will be led by Mr. Wang Feng, China’s leading rock musician and brand ambassador for Toread. At the launch ceremony, Wang Feng stated: “There are many things in life that bring joy, but none can compare to achieving one’s ideals. One truly lives only by having the courage to live boldly and by dedicating oneself wholeheartedly to one’s dreams. He looks forward to the early arrival of fellow travelers to embark on the Extreme Joy Journey in search of the spirit of original music.”
The theme of this year’s campaign is “Only by living bravely have we truly lived,” with the goal of finding everyday people who have bravely pursued their ideals. Since its launch on February 27, the campaign has spanned more than half a year. Teams, guided by four mentors, have traveled to the extremely rugged Mount Everest, the spiritually serene Baima Snow Mountain, the breathtakingly beautiful Shangri-La, and the sacred Kawagebo, successfully completing the mission of finding pathfinders with courageous hearts. The campaign aims to inspire more people to forge their own life paths through the experiences of these pathfinders and their unwavering pursuit of dreams.
