In recent years, with the rapid development of internet technology applications, China’s new media industry—represented by blogs, podcasts, mobile media, interactive IPTV, digital TV, and mobile TV—has continued to grow at a high speed. New media is moving toward mobility, convergence, and socialization, with micro-communication becoming mainstream.
Organized by the China Electronic Commerce Association, the 2015 China New Media Portal Conference will take “Innovation and Transformation” as its theme. Discussions will focus on topics such as “How New Media Portals Can Capture the Mobile Internet,” “Credibility as the Foundation of New Media Survival,” “The Path of Innovation for Local New Media Portals,” “How New Media Can Integrate with Capital Markets,” and “Insights from Mobile Industry Leaders for New Media.”

In addition, the conference will announce major awards including the “2014-2015 Top 100 Chinese New Media Portals,” “2014-2015 Most Influential New Media Portals,” and “2014-2015 Most Innovative New Media Portals.” The selection process is based on criteria such as innovation, influence, and contribution, and involves nomination, online voting, expert review, and media publicity to determine the final results. The winning list will be published across the conference’s partner media platforms for public oversight. It is believed that through this prestigious award selection, the event will set industry benchmarks and models of innovation, while also contributing to the healthy development of new media portals in the next decade.

Only by effectively utilizing new media, adhering to the principles of guiding public opinion and prioritizing the audience, can we adapt to the times and better disseminate positive energy. This conference will explore how new media, as a key platform for China’s advanced cultural development, can amplify mainstream voices, spread positivity, enhance credibility and integrity, and foster a healthy and harmonious online environment.
