ISPOBeijing 2012 During the event, Green Light Outdoor Network interviewed Sea To Summit co-founder Tim Mecartney-Snape . Tim has quite a deep connection with China — as early as 1981 , he came to China and applied to climb mountains in Qinghai Province, but was not granted permission at the time. However, not long after in 1984 , Tim successfully summited Mount Everest from the north side and became the first Australian to reach the top of Everest. 1990 , Tim returned to Mount Everest again and, starting from sea level, became the first person to climb the entire height of Mount Everest.

Sea To Summit The brand idea was born in China
Tim In retrospect, Sea To Summit the founding of the Sea To Summit brand has deep ties with China. 1990 , Tim during the Everest climb, met another co-founder — Roland Tyson , and the two hit it off immediately, deciding to establish Sea To Summit . Sea To Summit began focusing on the development of small accessories, using new technology and uniqueness as their foundational principles. To this day, Sea To Summit ’s accessories are most noted for being durable, waterproof, and reliable.

Tim explained, Sea To Summit has launched sleeping bags that were highly sought after by outdoor enthusiasts right from their debut. According to Tim , their success is built on 20 built on years of accumulated experience, 20 years of mountaineering, especially in climbing snow-capped mountains, have enabled Tim to be well aware of the shortcomings of the sleeping bags already on the market.
