“Ah, ah, ah…” If you find yourself in a place where screams echo back and forth, it’s bound to be dangerous—and thrilling. If someone invited you to take part in an activity that lets you experience a rapid freefall, would you join?

Speaking of bungee jumping, even the faint of heart turn pale—it’s a sport that truly tests your adrenaline. Standing atop bridges, towers, skyscrapers, cranes, or even hot air balloons at heights of about 40 meters or more, you attach one end of a long elastic cord to your ankles, spread your arms, bring your legs together, and dive headfirst.

After enjoying a few seconds of “free fall,” the cord attached to your feet stretches and tightens, halting your descent. At the lowest point, it recoils, pulling you back up—only to have gravity pull you down again. This cycle repeats multiple times until the elasticity of the cord fades, and so do the screams.

Bungee jumping is an extremely dangerous sport, so it’s crucial to choose a certified, legitimate operator and be guided by an experienced instructor. Always follow safety protocols when securing the harness. For outdoor jumps, also ensure favorable weather conditions—moderate to heavy rain and strong winds make for unsafe environments. The sport also demands excellent physical fitness: anyone with a history of heart or brain conditions is prohibited from participating.

YOYO Recommendation: In Hangzhou, both Future World and Hangzhou Amusement Park offer bungee jumping. The bungee tower at Hangzhou Daqing Valley stands 38 meters tall—about the height of a 13-story building. The plunge is thrilling yet safe, giving you an unforgettable experience of weightlessness and sheer helplessness. Ningbo Phoenix Mountain Harbor Park features a 46-meter tower, plus an additional 2 meters from the lake surface, totaling 48 meters of heart-pounding excitement. Meanwhile, Wenzhou Amusement Park’s 55-meter iron tower bungee jump holds the record for the highest jump in Zhejiang Province.

  Rock Climbing —

“I will ascend the mountain’s peak; all other peaks will seem small beneath me.” Rock climbing captivates countless enthusiasts with its unique sense of conquest as you reach new heights. Watch climbers scale cliffs with the steadiness of a gecko and the grace of an eagle. This highly aesthetic and visually stunning sport is known as the “ballet on the cliffs.” Thrilling and exhilarating, it fulfills our desire to reconnect with nature, challenge the elements, and push our own limits.

Before climbing, mastering the basics is essential for every climber: Improving flexibility and coordination is key to rock climbing. Only with good coordination can you climb more effortlessly. Climbing mainly relies on the balance of hands, feet, and body to move upward. Hands and arms must adapt their grip and force based on varying holds, demanding high levels of strength, rhythm, experience, technique, and flexibility. Only with these qualities can you skillfully navigate steep rock faces at various heights and angles, executing daring moves like shifts, turns, jumps, and pulls smoothly and accurately—delivering a sensation of beauty, fluidity, thrill, and power.

Essential gear includes harnesses, descenders, carabiners, slings, helmets, climbing shoes, chalk, and chalk bags. Safety equipment and teamwork are non-negotiable. For avid climbers, the most exciting part of rock climbing is seeing the scenery from a fresh perspective—the view from the cliff face is truly one of a kind. With such great weather, what are you waiting for?

YOYO Recommendation: Currently, Lingshan, Nangao Peak, and Meijiawu are three well-established outdoor climbing routes in Hangzhou: In the Dawu Basin of Lingshan Cave, there’s a large bare rock wall called “Kexiao Rock Wall.” Legend says this climbing spot was first developed by a climber nicknamed “Kexiao,” hence the name. The Nangao Peak climbing site offers the most stunning views—you can gaze at the Qiantang River in the distance and tea fields and mountains up close. At Meijiawu, one side of the cliff face overlooks the distinctive countryside charm of Meijiawu, while the other reveals lush, green mountain ranges.

If you’ve never tried rock climbing before, consider starting at an indoor climbing gym. Located within Zhejiang Provincial Sports Stadium, the Hangzhou Wuhuan Pioneer Climbing Center is a popular indoor climbing spot where local climbing enthusiasts often train.
