Xinhua News Agency, Zhejiang Channel, May 17 (Reporters Zheng Li, Liu Yuan) — At the 2012 National Rock Climbing Series (Ninghai Leg) held in Ninghai, Zhejiang Province, 47 athletes from across the country conquered the climbing walls with agility, successfully determining the champion.
This leg of the competition featured two events: bouldering and speed climbing. The national team athlete Pan Xuhua from Jiangxi Vocational College of Applied Technology claimed both the women’s bouldering and speed climbing titles, KAILAS Climbing Team athlete and national team member Wang Qinghua won the men’s bouldering title, and Zhong Lincai, a national team athlete from Beijing Mountain Beauty Sports Culture Co., Ltd., secured the men’s speed climbing championship.
The Ninghai leg of the National Rock Climbing Series is the first event of this year’s series. On the day of the competition, one of the most challenging feats was conquering the towering climbing wall set up at the venue. Zhong Lincai, the national team athlete who won the men’s speed climbing title, scaled the 15-meter-high wall in just 7.02 seconds.
According to the organizers, these outstanding athletes represent the highest level of domestic rock climbing today. (End)
