“If you feel your calves getting especially tired, put more strength into your thighs and try to walk with a swinging motion; if your thighs get tired, then straighten your body and use your calf muscles.” Upon entering the high-altitude zone of the Altun Mountains, Lei Diansheng shared his long-distance trekking experience with fellow hiker “Youjin” and other team members. He told his teammates that paying attention to small details and making good use of one’s body is crucial for high-altitude trekking in harsh environments.

Reflecting on this arduous journey after returning, Lei Diansheng said that the selfless assistance of his teammates and reliable equipment gave him constant confidence in crossing the Altun Mountains. Over the years, he has loved nature, been passionate about environmental protection, studied local customs and cultures, and enjoyed exploring on foot — but always alone. This trek through the no-man's-land, however, was made possible with the support of his admirable teammates and trustworthy gear fighting alongside him, enabling him to ultimately achieve the planned trekking goal. Looking at the photos of his teammates and equipment in his hand, Lei Diansheng said, “This sense of trust is the greatest gain from this journey.”
