The annual Beijing Ski Industry Summit Forum is gearing up for this year’s grand event. On September 20, 2012, the 2012-2013 Beijing Ski Industry Summit Forum will take place at the Beijing Tulip Garden Resort. This well-known domestic platform for ski industry exchanges was founded in the 2006/2007 ski season and has been dubbed the “Party of the Ski Industry” and the “Communication Platform for Ski Industry Professionals.” At that time, the organizing committee will gather heads of ski resorts and ski equipment brands, ski gear brands, ski clubs (websites), travel agencies, along with representatives from relevant mass media, to engage in discussions and exchanges on hot topics in China’s ski industry. Ahead of the new ski season, it aims to foster a rich ski culture atmosphere and promote the healthy development of the ski industry.
This year’s ski forum highlights three major features that attendees can look forward to:
First, dozens of ski resorts (resorts, holiday zones) across the country—whether planned, under construction, or already in operation—ranging from snow play parks and ski resorts to ski holiday villages and winter ski projects within scenic areas, are expected to make a full showing with various types of ski resort business models.
Second, ski resorts (resorts, holiday zones), equipment and gear, sales channels, and service providers will engage in face-to-face information exchange, image displays, and collaboration discussions—an opportunity that could mean seizing business opportunities.
Third, as one of the highlights of this year’s ski forum, we will present awards to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the ski industry over the years, surely focusing the attention of the ski community on that exciting moment.
       ● Outdoor Life Magazine and the Ski Industry
       Outdoor Life – Skiers
Distributed by post offices nationwide, founded in 2005
Outdoor Life magazine was first published in 2002 as a monthly publication distributed by post offices nationwide. It is a well-known magazine in China’s outdoor travel and skiing sector. Starting from the 2005-2006 ski season, Outdoor Life magazine dedicated two regular issues (December and January) to promote ski fashion (i.e., Outdoor Life – Skiers), forming an advisory committee for Skiers with individuals such as Shan Zhaojian, former Secretary-General of the Chinese Ski Association, Lu Jian, Chairman of Beijing Nanshan Ski Resort, He Ping, Chairman of Beijing Jundu Mountain Ski Resort, and Wu Bin, General Manager of Jilin Beidahu Ski Resort. Through years of unremitting effort, it has gradually established Outdoor Life – Skiers as one of the leading media outlets in China’s skiing field. Some well-known ski resorts, ski gear brands, and related enterprises (brands) in tourism, leisure real estate, and hot spring resorts in China have established good cooperative relationships with Outdoor Life – Skiers.
Beijing Skiers’ Map (Free Direct Mail)
Launched in 2007, this is a precision direct mail targeting white-collar workers and self-drive travelers in Beijing.
Starting from the 2007-2008 ski season, the Outdoor Life – Skiers editorial team has published the Beijing Skiers’ Map annually, distributing it intensively in the Beijing market and reaching surrounding areas to promote ski fashion among Beijing’s white-collar workers and high-end self-drive travelers, achieving precise and direct influence on the most commercially valuable demographic. As a functional guide for Beijing white-collar workers’ self-drive winter trips to nearby ski resorts, the Beijing Skiers’ Map also provides a direct promotional channel for ski companies (brands) and related businesses (brands) to target their audience.
       Beijing Ski Industry Summit Forum

A communication platform for China’s ski industry, founded in 2006.
Starting from the 2006-2007 ski season, every year in late September, the Outdoor Life magazine organizes the “Beijing Ski Industry Summit Forum” in Beijing. It invites heads of well-known ski resorts across the country, as well as representatives from ski gear brands, ski clubs, ski websites, travel agencies, and related mass media, to discuss and exchange views on hot topics in China’s ski industry, fostering a ski culture atmosphere and promoting the healthy development of the ski industry.
Forum Objective: To build a platform for the exchange of information, discussion of issues, and business collaboration within China’s ski industry.
