Dear outdoor enthusiasts, following the launch of the three-layer Gore-Tex ?/SPAN>fabric on September 13, Gore launched a nationwide consumer hiking experience campaign in Taiwan from September 15 to November 20, 2012. All consumers who own clothing products made with Gore-Tex ?/SPAN>fabric may apply at designated retail stores of the Ozark ?/SPAN>(Ozark) brand, BLACK YAK ?/SPAN>(Black Yak) brand, NORTHLAND (Norrona) brand, Lafuma ?/SPAN>brand, TOREAD ?/SPAN>(Toread) brand, and SALEWA (Salewa) brand to join Lei Diansheng on a trip to Taiwan and experience the island’s outdoor hiking adventure together.
Gore will select participating consumers based on their previous outdoor activity experience, especially their track record and capability in high-altitude trekking.
Hehuan Mountain, also known as Hehuan Main Peak, is one of Taiwan’s Hundred Peaks, located at the border between Hualien County and Nantou County. Surrounded by a chain of seven peaks collectively referred to as the Hehuan Mountain Range, it forms the watershed of Taiwan’s major rivers—the Dajia River, Zhuoshui River, and Liwu River. In winter, Hehuan Mountain is covered in snow and is known as the “Snow Village.” In spring and summer, the alpine grasslands of Yushan dwarf bamboo and fields of Yushan azaleas and Rhododendron rubropilosum create picturesque scenery. The Hehuan Mountain area offers accommodations at Hehuan Mountain Lodge and Songxue Lodge, located at Kilometer 33 on Provincial Highway 14A. A viewpoint by the road provides a distant view of the Qilai Mountain Range, and the site also serves as a trailhead for climbing Hehuan East Peak, Hehuan Sharp Peak, Shimen Mountain, and the northern section of the Central Mountain Range.
