Gather at Deshengmen at 9 a.m.
On December 8, Beijing—just past the Major Snow solar term—experienced strong winds and a sharp drop in temperature. Although the sun was shining, the biting winter wind still sent shivers down people’s spines. Although the scheduled meeting time was 9 a.m. at Deshengmen, Team Kaile’s leader was already waiting at the gathering spot by 8 a.m.

Perhaps due to the bitter cold, once reaching the mountaintop, aside from the Green Action participants, not a single other person was in sight. But everyone’s enthusiasm remained undiminished. Those with better stamina had already filled a large bag with trash during the climb, while those with lower endurance, seeing their much emptier bags upon reaching the top, didn’t even take a break before continuing to collect litter.

The mountain winds were strong, so the team didn’t linger long at the summit before descending. Taking a group photo was essential, but more importantly, they made sure to take away the trash they’d generated. Otherwise, cleaning up while also leaving trash behind would render the entire effort futile.
The goal of the Green Action is to promote environmental awareness and thus protect the natural environment. As long as everyone takes the trash around them—and that which they generate—down the mountain during every outdoor activity, we can make the mountains a little more beautiful and the skies a little bluer. Small actions yield significant impacts. Let future generations enjoy even more beautiful mountains and clearer waters.

Descending the mountain
The ninth stop of the Green Mountains Action was a great success thanks to the joint efforts of all the hikers. Looking back at the vast Mangshan Mountain filled me with satisfaction. Although one person’s strength is limited, when many small contributions come together, they can form a tremendous force. I hope the “Green Mountains Action” can inspire more people to take action, making the sky bluer and the mountains greener. Of course, it would be best if everyone avoids littering when out — please dispose of any waste you bring in trash bins, so that future “Green Mountains Actions” will see no garbage at all！
