The "Energy Red Bull・Snow Battle on Changbai ― The First Northern China Ski Challenge," sponsored by Red Bull Vitamin Drink Co., Ltd., will be held from January to March 2013 at three of the country's top ski resorts. Organized by Lvye Outdoor Network, the event features three regional divisions: North China, Northeast China, and Northwest China. The preliminary rounds will select a total of 18 teams in both snowboarding and alpine skiing to compete in the finals, where top domestic skiing enthusiasts will gather at Asia’s largest ski resort ― the Wanda Changbai Mountain International Resort ― for the ultimate showdown.
As the first national team-based competition among northern regions, this event includes both snowboarding and alpine skiing categories, with the format being a pursuit points race. This activity breaks through traditional regional boundaries and individual competition formats, incorporating the popular pursuit race element that has gained traction in recent years, making it exceptionally exciting. The competition kicks off in the Northeast Division on January 2, continues with the North China Division on January 12 and the Northwest Division on January 26, and culminates in the finals in early March.
The "Energy Red Bull・Snow Battle on Changbai ― The First Northern China Ski Challenge" has received strong support from three of China’s top ski resorts: Wanda Changbai Mountain International Resort, Miyuan Yunding Ski Resort, and Xinjiang Silk Road International Ski Resort. In addition to providing dedicated competition courses, each resort has designed unique tracks tailored to their terrain, as well as offering a wealth of prizes. All winning teams will receive double rewards: the six division champions will compete in the finals free of charge, and the grand finale will feature a top prize. All award-winning teams will be presented with an Energy Red Bull gift pack, while the championship team will receive ski tickets worth thousands of yuan and limited-edition Red Bull skiing gear.
