On December 8, the BIGPACK Shanghai flagship store, covering an area of 5,903 square meters and located at No. 859 Tianyaoqiao Road, was grandly opened. This marks another major move by BIGPACK to aggressively expand its market presence, following the opening of its first Asian flagship store in Hong Kong on November 22.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by an impressive lineup of distinguished guests, including Mr. Yin Qingqiu, Chairman of the BIGPACK brand group; Yann Delevaux (aka Yan Delihuos), internationally renowned mountaineer and Director of International Sports Marketing for the brand; Ma Yihua, a well-known Chinese mountaineer; J・RG LONKWITZ (Jürg Lonkwitz), the store’s image designer; and honorary guest JULIEN PROVET (Julien Provêt). Together they cut the ribbon amid warm applause and fireworks. Numerous international friends, partners from nearby cities such as Shanghai, Nanjing, and Hangzhou, executives from high-end shopping malls, outdoor clubs, and multiple media outlets were present to offer their congratulations.

The Genie National First Ascent Shanghai Tour and Ma Yihua’s climbing sharing session were also held at the event. Various outdoor clubs and enthusiasts, including the Shanghai Mountaineering Sports Association, Shanghai Mandao Outdoor, Zuoyou Outdoor, and Strawman, participated in the celebration.

The design of the BIGPACK Shanghai flagship store image was meticulously crafted by the Chinese-American design studio, German designer J・RG LONKWITZ, and Chinese-American architect CRAIG YAN. Its style continues the brand’s consistent themes of mountain exploration and adventure, along with the concept of an experiential retail space, delivering a refreshing visual impact and a comfortable, enjoyable shopping environment for customers.

Tianyaoqiao Road in Shanghai, the new landmark for sports and outdoor shopping, enjoys a prime location adjacent to the 80,000-seat Stadium, the Shanghai Indoor Stadium, and the commercial district of Xuhui. With a precisely targeted focus on outdoor and sports retail, the area is home to numerous well-known domestic and international outdoor sports brands, making it a favorite destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
In 2013, BIGPACK will strengthen its promotion in the fields of international sports marketing and the Chinese market. The BIGPACK brand has now launched four major series targeting the market: extreme alpine climbing, wilderness exploration, off-road trekking, and hiking travel, with products covering outdoor backpacks, apparel, sleeping bags, accessories, and more.
