Zhengzhou News from Dongfang Today: The 7th Zhengkai International Marathon is about to begin. In just seven days, all 39,000 registration slots have been filled.
On March 31, the 7th Zhengkai International Marathon will start simultaneously in Zhengzhou and Kaifeng. This year’s event features five major categories: the men’s and women’s full marathons, the men’s and women’s half marathons, and the 5-kilometer mini marathon (including a family marathon and a couples marathon). Unlike the more competitive full and half marathons, the 5-kilometer mini marathon emphasizes mass participation and is widely referred to by citizens as “a marathon anyone can join.” Out of the total planned field of 39,000 participants this year, 30,000 spots are allocated to the 5-kilometer event. It is reported that the China Zhengkai International Marathon has been successfully held for six editions, with annual participation rising to over 36,000 runners from 29 countries and regions. The event now ranks as the second-largest marathon in China in terms of scale.
