Garmin recently announced that Daimler AG (Daimler Headquarters) has selected Garmin as the supplier of factory-installed embedded navigation systems for future global Mercedes-Benz vehicle models. The award-winning Garmin navigation system will be integrated into Mercedes-Benz’s infotainment systems over the next four years.
"Being chosen by Daimler as a Tier 1 partner for its navigation solutions is a testament to Garmin’s Auto OEM capabilities and product quality," said Matt Munn, Garmin Auto OEM Global Vice President. "This recognition from Daimler is an honor for Garmin, and we look forward to working closely with them to deliver the best driving experience to discerning vehicle owners worldwide."
Garmin’s user-friendly navigation integrates seamlessly with Mercedes-Benz’s infotainment system, delivering a clean and intuitive user experience. In addition to navigation and map information displayed on the main screen, users can also view key driving information such as turn-by-turn directions from the instrument cluster behind the steering wheel. Moreover, the Mercedes-Benz infotainment system allows users to operate various navigation functions via knobs or voice commands. Garmin’s next-generation navigation software will provide critical positioning data to the vehicle’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), helping drivers navigate challenging road conditions.
The Garmin Auto OEM team leverages Garmin’s extensive experience in user interface and hardware design across the automotive, aviation, and marine industries to develop innovative in-car navigation, telematics, and infotainment systems. Garmin has Auto OEM R&D and marketing centers in the Americas, Europe, and Asia, offering customers comprehensive automotive electronics solutions, including full infotainment systems, telematics, navigation software, location-based services (LBS), and integrated portable navigation devices.
