D-A-D, short for "Disneyland After Dark," is a famous Danish hard rock band. Their debut album, *Call of the Wild*, was officially released in 1986. Their breakthrough album, *No Fuel Left for the Pilgrims* from 1989, was released on the band’s fifth anniversary. The success of this album brought the band immense influence, and soon after, they signed with the major label Warner Bros. for a million-dollar deal, moving on to conquer the U.S. market.
Over their nearly 30-year career, the band has released 11 official albums, three of which topped the charts in Denmark. In 1989, they headlined the prestigious Roskilde Festival in Denmark. Starting in 1991, they became a popular star band on MTV. Their 1989 album *Sympatico* won the Danish Grammy Award for "Danish Album of the Year." On New Year's Eve 1999, they performed for a crowd of 50,000 at Copenhagen’s City Hall Square. Their 2000 album *Everything Glows* earned four awards at the Danish Music Awards.
As the After-Party for the 2013 Beijing Midi Festival – China Music Valley, the night of April 30th at Yugong Yishan will not only be a celebration for the Danish community in Beijing but also offer Chinese audiences a taste of classic rock. If rock guitar riffs and sexy beats get your heart racing, come raise a glass and join the party. These Danish veterans will bring their signature humor, and another highlight of the night will be Finnish melodic metal stars AMORAL, who have come especially to support. Having grown up listening to D-A-D, they are both musical and geographical neighbors to the rock icons, and will proudly open the show as special guests.
