The 2013 Asia Outdoor Show opened on the morning of July 24, with the award ceremony of the 4th Asian Outdoor Industry Awards in the afternoon becoming the highlight of the first day of the exhibition. The concept of the Asian Outdoor Industry Awards originates from the European Outdoor Awards, established with the goal of providing a strong platform for outstanding products. The judging panel included members from the Jiangsu Industrial Design Society, mountaineering schools, professional buyers, independent outdoor media writers, outdoor product designers, and mountaineers. The renowned Swedish outdoor brand Klattermusen won two awards at this exhibition — Best Design and Best Environmental Performance — for its Diser sleeping bag and Mithril Chainmail products.

As the exclusive Chinese agent for Klattermusen, Beijing Wokemai Trading Co., Ltd. not only won two awards at this exhibition but also showcased Westcomb, an internationally renowned Canadian outdoor brand. Westcomb has won numerous awards and sponsors many top athletes in the climbing world, including Golden Ice Axe winners like Bruce Normand. Made in Canada, Westcomb’s excellent craftsmanship and tailoring rival those of its fellow Canadian brand, Arc'teryx. Its materials mainly consist of the Polartec series, offering breathability up to four times that of standard GORE-TEX products while ensuring waterproof performance.
