At 11:10 AM on August 14, 2013, seven members of the main team from the Beihang Lingfeng Society Mountaineering Team—Chen Hongshun, Zhao Wei, Wang Zhaofeng, Wang Junfeng, Liu Youwei, Zhang Qinghui, and Wang Ce—boarded a train from Beijing to Chengdu. They arrived in Chengdu at 5:13 PM on August 15, 2013, where they reunited with five other team members who had arrived earlier. After preparing for the climb in Chengdu on the 16th, the team will set off for Banji Peak on the 17th.
On the morning of August 14, the seven members of the main team and Lingfeng Society members seeing them off took a group photo together in front of the New Main Building of Beihang University. Then, full of fighting spirit, they boarded the train to Chengdu. After nearly 30 hours of bumpy travel, the main team reunited with the earlier arrivals at the train station. Everyone’s faces were lit up with the joy of reunion and anticipation for the snow-capped mountains.
The next day, the 16th, the team members in Chengdu went shopping for supplies and completed relevant procedures to get fully prepared for the climb. In the evening, they packed their personal backpacks, waiting for departure to the dream destination, Banji Peak, the following day. We wish all members of the mountaineering team a safe and successful climb, achieving glorious results, and look forward to the outstanding performance of these 12 vibrant young people.
