On October 26, the “Honglv 2013” team, organized by Sanfo Outdoor Club, successfully completed the epic feat of crossing three major no-man’s-lands and returned to civilization. It is reported that the total distance covered during “Honglv 2013” exceeded 10,000 kilometers, with over 960 kilometers traversed in no-man’s-land areas. Departing from Beijing en route to Lhasa and operating without backup support, the team managed to cross the remote regions of Qiangtang, Hoh Xil, and Arjin Mountain—the so-called “three major no-man’s-lands”—relying solely on Shen Zhou Tian Hong Beidou phones to stay in contact with the outside world. This accomplishment marks yet another milestone in the history of human exploration.

     Team leader Caesar mentioned that the journey went relatively smoothly, with all members maintaining good health and no severe cases of altitude sickness or other issues occurring. Of course, given the harsh road conditions in the no-man’s-lands, unavoidable vehicle malfunctions and getting stuck in the mud due to river crossings and muddy terrain did occur. One vehicle, which suffered significant mechanical failure, had to be abandoned in the no-man’s-land. A rescue team has now been dispatched to the area, using coordinates provided by the Beidou phone system to locate and retrieve it.

 

    Speaking of rescuing the disabled vehicle, one cannot overlook the importance of the Shen Zhou Tian Hong Beidou phones. In the no-man’s-land regions, where the average altitude exceeds 5,000 meters, mobile phone signals are completely unavailable. For this reason, the “Honglv 2013” team was specially equipped with Shen Zhou Tian Hong Beidou phones. Thanks to the BeiDou satellite short-message system, they were able to maintain contact with the outside world at any time, ensuring prompt rescue in case of emergencies. Beyond emergency support, team members also used the Beidou phones to stay in touch with family and friends back home throughout the journey, enjoying real-time communication and sharing features previously unavailable during outdoor expeditions.

 

    It is reported that on the evening of November 5, the rescue team successfully completed its mission and returned to Lhasa. With this, the “Honglv 2013” no-man’s-land crossing event, organized by Sanfo Club, has been successfully concluded. We look forward to the next exciting adventure.
