The Apple Foundation also shares a deep bond with Mt. Kailash. Since its founder, Ms. Wang Qiuyang, personally experienced the kora in 2003 and discovered environmental issues, she initiated the Mt. Kailash public environmental protection campaign. This environmental initiative has now reached its fourth edition, aiming to build a broader platform for spreading highland environmental awareness, establish more channels, and gather more volunteers. Through participation and attention to this event, an increasing number of people have come to understand Mt. Kailash and the culture surrounding this sacred mountain. Awakening reverence for nature, incorporating environmental protection into travel principles, and reflecting the harmonious beauty between humanity and nature—these are the goals the Apple Foundation hopes to promote through this event. Environmental protection can happen anytime, anywhere during travel. Only by protecting every travel destination on Earth can their beauty endure forever.
At the event, representatives from the three parties introduced the cultural overview of the Tibet region, the highland environmental philosophy of the Apple Foundation and the upcoming activities, as well as the collaborative concept and plans for the Horse Year Kora project. KAILAS hopes that through the Horse Year Kora Event, attention will be given to the humanistic environment of the Tibet region via the act of kora. With a spirit of exploration, they aim to cherish nature while immersing themselves in it, pursuing an environmentally friendly outdoor philosophy centered on harmony between humans and nature.
