[Introduction to the Three Gorges Dam]:

The Three Gorges Dam Scenic Area covers an area of 15.28 square kilometers. It is one of the first national AAAA-level scenic spots (now upgraded to one of the first national AAAAA-level scenic spots). Major attractions include: the Danzi Ridge Viewing Platform, Model Room, 185 Platform, Xiling Yangtze River Bridge, Diversion Tunnel, Dam Park, and others. From the Danzi Ridge Viewing Platform, you can take in the full panorama of the Three Gorges Project and appreciate the heroic sentiment of Chairman Mao’s verse, “Cut off Wu Mountain’s clouds and rain, a calm lake emerges from the deep gorges.” Standing on the 185 Platform and looking down, you can feel the greatness and pride of the Chinese nation. Approaching the close-up dam viewing spot allows you to experience the majestic grandeur of the dam up close. Climbing to the top of the dam lets you witness the awe-inspiring sight of flood discharge. Visit the Diversion Memorial Park to admire the perfect harmony between humans and nature, as if you’re in a picturesque scene where “mountains and waters connect, and heaven and humanity are one.”
