For skiing enthusiasts, summer means nearly a six-month wait until the next ski season, and the three-month winter season is no longer enough to satisfy their passion for skiing. In response to huge market demand, artificial ambient-temperature snow technology has emerged, making four-season outdoor skiing no longer a dream for skiing enthusiasts.

In recent years, skiing in New Zealand during summer has become a popular travel activity. The rise of skiing is attributed to improved living standards, evolving from a sport into a fashion trend. The major hurdle to enjoying four-season outdoor skiing without leaving the country lies in technological challenges. It is reported that in Chicheng County, right next to Chongli, the construction of the Xinxueguo Ski Resort is in full swing, and the resort will extensively apply its independently developed artificial ambient-temperature snow technology.

Unlike indoor ski resorts that use refrigeration to make snow, artificial ambient-temperature snow features physical properties extremely similar to real snow. It can be blended with real snow or used alone, and has the same friction coefficient as natural snow. From an environmental perspective, ambient-temperature artificial snow can withstand temperatures up to 1,000 degrees Celsius and has a lifespan of thousands of years, significantly reducing the large amounts of water required for refrigerated snowmaking. Previously, Xinxueguo submitted a PCT application for this artificial ambient-temperature snow technology, with international experts praising it as “We cannot find any similar technology. Thank you for creating a brand-new lifestyle for humanity.” The first phase of the Xinxueguo Ski Resort is set to be completed at the end of November or early December this year, with a total investment of 10.9 billion yuan. Once completed, it will be the only intercontinental ski resort within 300 kilometers of Beijing capable of achieving an 817-meter vertical drop over a 3,000-meter length. The ski resort features 86 kilometers of slopes and is just 130 kilometers in a straight line from Beijing. After the opening of the Beijing-Zhangjiakou Expressway, the drive from Beijing to Xinxueguo will take only one hour.

Science changes life, and the traditional norm of outdoor skiing being only a winter activity will soon be broken.
