On October 24, 2015, the first Suzhou Mountain Trail Marathon will kick off at Suzhou Radio & Television Film & TV City. As a key concurrent event of the Radio & Television Outdoor Sports Exhibition being held at the venue from October 23–26, elite runners from all over China will gather for the Suzhou Mountain Trail Marathon. They will run to showcase their spirit and demonstrate trail runners’ passion for nature and outdoor life, while also cheering on the concurrent Suzhou Radio & Television Outdoor Exhibition.
The event is organized by the Suzhou Mountaineering Sports Association. With the vision of creating Suzhou’s premier mountain marathon, the organizers have meticulously designed an exhilarating trail running experience. The concurrent Suzhou Radio & Television Outdoor Exhibition will also attract a large number of professional spectators. With professional organization, professional athletes, and professional audiences all coming together, this mountain trail marathon is destined to be a visual feast.
The race consists of three categories: full marathon, half marathon, and fun run, covering distances of 41 km, 21 km, and 10 km respectively. Yang Feng, head of the event organizer Yuanse Outdoor Sports, stated that over 80% of the full marathon course will be on mountain trails. For such a professional course, the organizers will also invite top domestic mountain trail runners to serve as advisors, providing on-site technical guidance and encouragement for the participants.
Unlike traditional marathons, this mountain trail event has particularly strict registration requirements for the full and half marathon categories. Participants in these two categories must provide proof of completion of an equivalent race and a health certificate to successfully register. It is believed that such stringent registration criteria will elevate the spectacle of this mountain marathon to new heights.

A support team composed of professional coaches from the Suzhou Mountaineering & Outdoor Sports Association, emergency responders from the Suzhou Red Cross, and volunteers from the Suzhou Volunteer Federation will ensure athlete safety throughout the event.

Exit 3 of Metro Line 1 leads to the Radio & Television Film & TV City. The beautiful Shoutao Lake is nearby, offering a great spot for warm-up runs while exploring.
