It is reported that the 2017 China Hot Air Balloon Club League Lanzhou·Anning Station, themed “Soar Over the Yellow River·Embrace Anning,” is jointly organized by the Chinese Aeronautical Sports Association, Lanzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Lanzhou Municipal Bureau of Sports, and the People’s Government of Anning District, Lanzhou. It is hosted by the Anning District Bureau of Culture and Sports, Lanzhou Anning Urban Construction Investment Co., Ltd., and exclusively operated by SHIZHI Sports. This four-day competition, from July 28 to July 31, will feature 60 professional athletes from 30 top-tier hot air balloon clubs across the country. They will not only complete competitive events such as flying to the main venue, Hound Chasing Rabbit, Precision Flight, Aerial Treasure Hunt, and Wandering Waltz, but also achieve the feat of flying over the Yellow River to take in the majestic grandeur of the Mother River.
Known as the “Ten-Li Peach Township,” Anning is nestled between mountains and water, blooming with flowers three seasons a year and lush greenery all four. With its beautiful environment and abundant peach production, it is a shining pearl along the ancient Silk Road. The area boasts distinctive attractions such as Tianfu Sand Palace, Renshou Mountain, Yintan Wetland Park, Lanzhou Botanical Garden, Anning Ecological Cultural Park, Jiuzhou Terrace, Wensu Pavilion (home to the Complete Library of the Four Treasuries), and Lanzhou Guoxue Museum. Among them, the “Tianfu Sand Palace” is a group of Danxia-like landform wonders formed by approximately 25 million years of red sandstone, shaped over time through wind erosion and water scouring. Naturally formed, they resemble palaces sculpted by divine axes. In recent years, Anning District has been committed to building a modern central urban area, vigorously advancing the development zones for modern service industries, science, education, culture, and innovation, ecological civilization, and happy cities.
