What kind of university student society can make continuous expeditions to Tibet14For many years, using an unbroken trail of footprints to interpret the meaning of "supporting Tibet," and setting the record for the longest ongoing expeditions by a Chinese university student society to Tibet? And what kind of group of people adhere to the belief of "writing their theses on the land" and "alleviating the hardships of the people's livelihood and cultivating talents for the world," bringing advanced experience and humanistic care to remote counties in the Tibetan region? Since20052005 in Saga, to20182018 when Shigatse was chosen as the destination, this summer, the HowToTrip China Agricultural University Peak Cloud Society will make its1414th trip to Tibet.

13Over the years, students from the HowToTrip China Agricultural University Peak Cloud Society have used their summer vacation to venture deep into Tibetan regions to carry out about20ten days of social practice activities, including humanistic care, scientific research expeditions, and trekking around sacred mountains. Although they may come from different grades and majors, they are all top performers who have gone through multiple evaluations. They not only possess advantages in physical strength and various abilities but also maintain sincere and determined hearts. On the evening of7[Month]13[Day], during the Peak Cloud Society’s summer team departure ceremony, Sun Yukun, captain of the 2023 Humanities Scientific Expedition Team, said: “The new members come from different colleges and majors, and have all gone through layers of selection including physical fitness tests, trial lectures, interviews, written exams, and democratic evaluations. Everyone has their own main responsibilities, the team is clearly divided, and operates efficiently.”18The 2023 Peak Cloud Society summer team consists of four teams: the Orienteering Team, Mountaineering Team, Rock Climbing Team, and Humanities Scientific Expedition Team. During the departure ceremony, the four teams introduced their summer activities and preparation status through presentation videos and speeches by their captains. The Humanities Scientific Expedition Team, which shoulders the “important task” of continuous expeditions to Tibet, will head to the Lang County in Shigatse and the Shannan area of Tibet this year.

2018Nowadays, the Peak Cloud Society is gaining increasing fame in the circles of university outdoor clubs and outdoor sports. Members of the society have successfully summited peaks such as Mount Siguniang, Muztagh Ata, Africa’s Mount Kilimanjaro, and the world’s sixth highest peak, Cho Oyu. Among them, Huang Chungui, Su Zixia, and Zhou Peng were selected for the

2008 Olympic torch relay training team for Mount Everest. Ultimately, Huang Chungui served as the fourth torchbearer, completing the relay of the Olympic torch on Mount Everest. In20082012, 18 members of the university’s mountaineering team summited the Anyemaqen Snow Mountain in Qinghai, setting a historical record for the highest number of summiteers.2016Delivering the spirit of HowToTrip China Agricultural University across thousands of miles, meeting on the Peak Cloud Tibet journey—scientific expeditions19for 20 years, they have been on the road, experiencing and enjoying the “Peak Cloud-style” summer.
