The annual Beijing Ski Industry Summit Forum is gearing up for this year’s grand event. The 2014-2015 Beijing Ski Industry Summit Forum is scheduled to take place on September 17-18 at Beijing Crab Island Resort. As the premier platform for high-level professionals in China’s ski industry to exchange information, discuss issues, and seek collaboration, this year’s forum will gather elites from all sectors of the domestic ski industry—executives from ski resorts across the country, heads of ski facility and equipment suppliers, as well as leaders from ski industry management, research and teaching institutions, ski clubs (websites), and travel agencies—to engage in discussions on some of the hot topics in the development of China’s ski industry.

This year’s Beijing Ski Industry Summit Forum will span two days and features three major highlights that attendees can look forward to:

First, the Olympic bid topic. This year’s ski industry summit will focus on the opportunities brought by the Olympic bid for China’s ski industry, and collectively explore how ski resorts, equipment suppliers, research and teaching institutions, and clubs (ski websites) can seize the opportunities, share the benefits, and shoulder responsibilities. Let’s look forward to authoritative updates on the Olympic bid, behind-the-scenes stories, and participate in the “Olympic Bid Signature Wall” activity to voice the strong support of China’s ski industry for the bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympics.

Second, the summit dialogue. Centered around the theme of “sharing, collaboration, and mutual success,” this year’s ski industry summit will invite seasoned industry veterans to engage in dialogue on topics such as “destination ski resorts and the ski resort lifestyle” and “the virtuous cycle of ski resort operations,” sharing their forward-looking insights on China’s ski industry and practical experience in ski resort management.

Third, breakout sessions. For the first time, this year’s ski industry summit will feature dedicated breakout sessions for ski resorts, ski facility equipment, and ski gear, respectively addressing key issues in various segments of the ski industry. These focused discussions will make the exchanges at the ski industry summit more direct, professional, and efficient, while also providing more opportunities for participation.
The 2014-2015 Beijing Ski Industry Summit Forum is organized by Outdoor Life Magazine, co-organized by Chongli Taiwu Four Seasons Cultural Tourism Resort, and hosted by Ski Industry Editorial Department, with Mr. He Ping, Executive President of Beidahu Ski Resort, specially invited to serve as the moderator.

Outdoor Life - Skiers Magazine
Distributed nationwide through post offices, established in 2005

Starting from the 2005-2006 ski season, Outdoor Life Magazine has dedicated two regular issues (December and January) each year to promoting ski fashion, which eventually evolved into the now-familiar Outdoor Life - Skiers Magazine. We have invited former Secretary-General of the Chinese Ski Association Shan Zhaojian, Chairman of Beijing Nanshan Ski Resort Lu Jian, Chairman of Beijing Junshan Ski Resort He Ping, and General Manager of Jilin Beidahu Ski Resort Wu Bin to form the advisory committee of Outdoor Life - Skiers Magazine. Through years of effort, we have established the magazine as one of the mainstream media outlets in China’s ski field.

Beijing Ski Industry Summit Forum
A communication platform for China’s ski industry, established in 2006

Starting from the 2006-2007 ski season, every September, Outdoor Life Magazine has hosted the “Beijing Ski Industry Summit Forum” in Beijing. We invite renowned ski resort executives from across the country, as well as representatives from ski facility and equipment brands, ski clubs, and related mass media, to engage in discussions on hot topics in China’s ski industry and promote its healthy development.

Forum mission: To build a platform for China’s ski industry to exchange information, discuss issues, and seek collaboration.
The 2013-2014 Beijing Ski Industry Summit Forum was attended by over 50 well-known ski resorts in China, as well as representatives from ski facility and equipment brands, ski research and teaching institutions, and ski clubs. More than 200 professionals from China’s ski industry participated in a series of activities organized by the forum, including keynote speeches, thematic dialogues, and brand promotion exhibitions.

Ski Map (free direct distribution)
Targeting white-collar workers and motorists, established in 2007

Starting from the 2007-2008 ski season, Outdoor Life Magazine has published a Ski Map annually, distributing it through office buildings, bars, auto 4S stores, outdoor shops, and ski resorts. It promotes the ski fashion trend to white-collar and motorist audiences across the country, influencing the most commercially valuable demographics. As a functional guide for white-collar individuals to drive to nearby ski resorts for winter leisure, the Ski Map also provides a direct marketing channel for ski companies (brands) and related businesses (brands) to promote their offerings to target audiences.

Ski Industry (free direct distribution)
A publication for elite professionals in the ski industry, established in 2012

This is an industry magazine provided free of charge by Outdoor Life Magazine to professionals in China’s ski industry, focusing on the exchange of ski industry information and management expertise. Published twice a year (spring and autumn editions), the magazine centers on ski resorts (ski holiday villages and ski resorts) and covers all aspects of ski industry investment, operation, and management: ski resort planning and design, ski facility and equipment, ski gear sales and rental, ski instruction, as well as ski industry policies, industry trends, and international ski industry news. Target readers include management personnel from ski resorts across the country, ski facility suppliers and service providers, ski gear brand owners, executives from ski clubs and related travel agencies, managers of ski gear retail stores, and other professionals in related fields.
