As the 2022 Winter Olympics draw near, Chongli, as the main venue for snow events, has captured global attention. Although the ski season is nearing its end, the ski resorts remain bustling with visitors. The public’s demand for winter sports is growing stronger. The "2nd 1031 Cup SWIX & 8264 Alpine Slalom Invitation Tournament," hosted by the 1031 Ski Club and SWIX, and co-organized by 8264 Outdoor Network, Lingdong Shanshui Marketing Consultants (Beijing) Co., Ltd., and Wanlong Resort Paradise, kicked off brilliantly on March 25–26, 2017.

This event featured exciting alpine slalom competitions for both skiing and snowboarding, a thrilling evening gala, and a grand award ceremony. It marked the first time in China that a mass sports event united diverse groups including university students, disabled athletes, teenagers, children, and hardcore ski and snowboard enthusiasts. By providing a platform for exchange and performance, the tournament served as an innovative move by a civilian ski club to promote mass skiing.

This competition can be considered the most inclusive event in the realm of mass skiing, involving nearly 100 participants from ski teams of 28 universities, including Beihang University, Beijing Jiaotong University, Peking University, and Beijing Union University. As a cradle for nurturing China's next generation of skiers, the 1031 Ski Club also attracted nearly 100 young skiing enthusiasts of various ages. This provided a broad platform to enhance youth skiing skills, promote technical exchanges, and help identify, train, and reserve future skiing talent for the nation.

Notably, to further advance sports for people with disabilities and support the Beijing Winter Paralympics, the event invited athletes from the national Paralympic team to participate. Through the competition, they gained valuable experience. The organizing committee awarded China’s Disabled Ski Team the Best Outdoor Style Award. Their performances not only electrified the audience but also moved everyone deeply. Through their efforts, they demonstrated the resilient and indomitable spirit of disabled athletes, vividly showcasing their boundless passion for winter sports.

It is reported that nearly 1,000 participants from across the country registered for the event, with around 300 competing officially and nearly 100 joining for the experience. On-site, the contestants were brimming with confidence. In addition to speed races, they also competed in skill displays. They gracefully navigated through the gates, enjoying the thrill of snow and competition while vying for over a million yuan in prizes offered by the organizing committee.

The young skiers in the junior group also put on an impressive show. Despite their young age, their skiing was polished, their movements professional, exuding seriousness and star potential. With time, they are sure to become rising stars in the skiing world.

The evening gala on March 25 was a grand gathering for all participants. Attendees included Liu Boyu, President of Zhangjiakou Ski Association; Zheng Liangcheng, General Manager of SWIX; Zhao Jianqiu, Chairman of 1031 Ski Club; Song Xiangyang, Director; Ni Shoujun and Ding Yanfeng, Heads of the Club; Yu Donglin, General Manager of Wanlong Resort Paradise; Mo Ran, representative of 8264; Li Qingsong, General Manager of Tengyue Ski; Jiao, Head of Yabuli Sunshine Resort; Ji Jing, head of Lingdong Shanshui Marketing Consultants; and numerous industry media. The event featured wonderful performances by the young skiers from 1031 Ski Club, as well as lucky draws for nearly a million yuan in prizes sponsored by partners. Everyone enjoyed an unforgettable closing celebration.

On the afternoon of March 26, after two days of fierce competition, a grand award ceremony was held in the ski equipment hall of Wanlong Resort Paradise. The top eight contestants in each category received prizes meticulously prepared by the organizing committee.
