The 2012 Osprey "North-South Showdown" climbing competition kicked off simultaneously in Beijing, Shanghai, Changzhou, and Zhenjiang on June 23.
This year’s event featured Osprey’s Ritan Dianshi Climbing Gym, Osprey Shanghai Rock Dance Space Climbing Gym, Changzhou Fengyan Club, and Zhenjiang Rock Dance Space Climbing Gym as regional main venues. On the day of the Dragon Boat Festival, the competition attracted climbers and outdoor enthusiasts from across the country.
The "North-South Showdown" series of competitions began in 2010 as a continuation of Osprey’s strong support for climbing. As early as 1996, the Osprey brand held a promotional event in Beijing’s Xidan area featuring a mobile climbing wall, bringing rock climbing into the public eye for the first time. Over the past fifteen years, climbers with yellow skin have become ubiquitous, and Osprey’s support for China’s climbing movement has never wavered — from world-class climbing competitions to the development of natural rock faces, from the Chinese national climbing team to the new generation of climbing enthusiasts, Osprey has spared no effort in providing support.
