You don’t have to go to Hollywood to see celebrities. Welcome to the “Starlight Tour” by New York Gray Line. The “Starlight Tour” is a promotional campaign launched by Gray Line Sightseeing in New York City. Each red double-decker bus on the “Starlight Tour” route is a moving exhibition hall, showcasing both the cultural and geographical highlights of New York as well as the city’s “Model New Yorkers.”
A “Model New Yorker” is undoubtedly a public figure who works tirelessly and demonstrates through real actions that “New York is the greatest city in America.” Each “Model New Yorker” will have their own image sticker featured on Gray Line’s double-decker buses, becoming an integral and shining part of the Starlight Tour, allowing thousands of Gray Line visitors to experience the vibrancy and beauty of the “Big Apple.”
Since May 2010, New York Gray Line has invited 10 “Model New Yorkers” to participate in its promotional activities across the city. They are: American TV cooking queen and author Rachael Ray, “King of Real Estate” Donald Trump, Oscar-winning Best Supporting Actress Whoopi Goldberg, ice hockey player Henrik Lundqvist, Yankees legend Reggie Jackson, Oscar-winning actor Richard Dreyfuss, Grammy-winning Best New Artist Cyndi Lauper, Oscar-winning Best Actress Liza Minnelli, 41st Grammy-winning Best Tropical Latin Artist Marc Anthony, and legendary designer Kenneth Cole.
Each of these public figures appeared at the unveiling ceremony of the red double-decker buses of New York Gray Line. Gray Line awards each “Model New Yorker” with a permanent free ride certificate and places a uniquely designed sticker featuring their image on one of New York’s iconic red double-decker buses operating routes in Downtown Manhattan, around Manhattan, or in Brooklyn.
