The annual Beijing Ski Industry Summit Forum is gearing up for this year’s grand event. On September 20, 2012, the 2012-2013 Beijing Ski Industry Summit Forum will take place at the Beijing Tulip Garden Resort. This well-known domestic platform for ski industry exchange, established in the 2006/2007 ski season, has been dubbed the “PARTY of the ski industry” and the “exchange platform for professionals in the ski industry.” During the event, the organizers will gather representatives from ski resorts and equipment manufacturers, ski gear brands, ski clubs (websites), travel agencies, and relevant mainstream media across the country to discuss and exchange views on key issues in China’s ski industry. Ahead of the new ski season, the forum aims to foster a vibrant ski culture and promote the healthy development of the ski industry.
This year’s ski forum will feature three major highlights that attendees can look forward to:
First, dozens of ski resorts (resorts, vacation zones) across the country—whether planned, under construction, or already in operation—ranging from snow play parks and ski resorts to winter ski projects in scenic areas and resort zones—are expected to make a full appearance.
Second, ski resorts (resorts, vacation zones), equipment and gear suppliers, sales channels, and service providers will engage in face-to-face information exchange, brand showcases, and collaborative discussions—an opportunity that could lead to business breakthroughs.
Third, as one of the highlights of this year’s ski forum, we will present awards to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the ski industry over the years, surely drawing the industry’s attention to this exciting moment.
● Outdoor Life Magazine and the Ski Industry
Outdoor Life – Skiers
Distributed by post offices nationwide, launched in 2005
Launched in 2002 and published monthly, Outdoor Life magazine is distributed by post offices across the country and is a well-known publication in China’s outdoor travel and ski sectors. Starting from the 2005-2006 ski season, the magazine dedicated two regular issues (December and January) to promoting ski fashion (i.e., Outdoor Life – Skiers), and formed an advisory committee for Skiers with figures such as Shan Zhaojian, former Secretary-General of the Chinese Ski Association, Lu Jian, Chairman of Beijing Nanshan Ski Resort, He Ping, Chairman of Beijing Jundu Mountain Ski Resort, and Wu Bin, General Manager of Jilin Beidahu Ski Resort. Through years of dedicated efforts, Outdoor Life – Skiers has gradually become one of the leading media voices in China’s ski field. A number of well-known domestic ski resorts, ski gear brands, as well as related businesses (brands) in tourism and leisure real estate and hot spring resorts have established strong collaborations with Outdoor Life – Skiers.
Beijing Ski Map (Free Direct Mail)
Launched in 2007, this direct mail campaign targets Beijing’s white-collar workers and self-driving travelers with precision.
Starting from the 2007-2008 ski season, the Outdoor Life – Skiers editorial team has published the Beijing Ski Map annually, focusing distribution in the Beijing market while also reaching surrounding areas. It promotes ski fashion to Beijing’s white-collar workers and high-end self-driving tourists, creating a precise and direct impact on this highly valuable demographic. Serving as a functional guide for Beijing’s white-collar commuters who drive to nearby ski resorts during winter, the Beijing Ski Map also provides a direct marketing channel for ski companies (brands) and related enterprises (brands) to promote their offerings to target audiences.
