Hualien: At noon on the 22nd, a 40-year-old hiker surnamed Tseng, who was at an altitude of over 3,000 meters on Mashishan in Zhuoxi Township, Hualien County, began feeling unwell and developed high-altitude sickness complicated by pulmonary edema. The expedition leader quickly contacted emergency services for rescue. The Tainan County Fire Department immediately dispatched a twin-propeller helicopter to the scene and completed the hoist rescue by 1:30 PM, after which the patient was transported to Tainan Chenggong Hospital for treatment.
