The 2013 "Give It All – Spring Mountain Bike Cross-Country Race," organized by the Taiwan Cycling Association, was held today in Huaxing Tribe, Hanxi Village, Datong Township, Yilan County. It gathered over 160 participants from all over Taiwan and Japan. The event also featured high-difficulty stunt performances by motorcycles and off-road vehicles, drawing thunderous applause from the audience. Riders noted that today’s race, which took place along the Huaxing Farm Road, featured steep gradients and slippery surfaces, presenting a high level of challenge and making for a rare and valuable racing experience.
Ms. Hirose, who ranks third in the women’s division of the All-Japan Mountain Bike Championships, traveled specifically to take part in the event. Ms. Hirose said she was very satisfied with the competition venue in Datong Township, and the warmth of the Atayal people made her feel right at home.
Chen Shuangquan, renowned as the “Motorcycle God” in the technical motorcycle scene, led his team in performing stunts. Asia’s only bronze medalist, Zhuang Yubin, went first, overcoming numerous obstacles with stunts such as the "cobra" and "crab walk" on slippery driftwood. Chen Shuangquan then took on the “three-bar formation” made of three one-meter-high cement pipes, leaping on a single wheel. The daring feat left 200 to 300 spectators on the edge of their seats.
