Taitung: Recently, a sudden heavy rainfall in the mountainous area caused a large amount of mudflow to cover the section of Provincial Highway 20 (South Cross-Island Highway) between Lide and Xiangyang. As a result, 19 hikers were stranded. Fortunately, the Xiangyang Police Station stepped in to provide temporary shelter. The road section was cleared yesterday morning, allowing the hikers to descend safely. They expressed deep gratitude to the officers for their prompt assistance.
