After a search by rescue personnel, she was found at the bottom of the valley with severe head lacerations and no signs of life. Rescuers moved her to a location suitable for helicopter hoisting and transported her body to Ciji Hospital, where her family handled the aftermath.
Li Gui?, born in 1961, was climbing Qilai Mountain yesterday with two other women and one man when she fell off the cliff near Ban Shi Mountain. Her companions attempted to climb down the mountainside to rescue her using a 60-meter rope but were unable to locate her. They immediately reported the incident to the police. Upon receiving the report, the fire department quickly formed a rescue team and traveled to the search site by helicopter. However, due to heavy rain in Hualien last night, two helicopter missions were unsuccessful. This morning, the weather cleared, and rescuers took turns traveling to the site by helicopter. When they found the woman at the bottom of the valley, they discovered she had severe head lacerations and no signs of life.
As the accident site was not suitable for helicopter hoisting, rescuers worked together to move the body to a location where the helicopter could land safely. They then hoisted the woman’s body and transported it back to Ciji Hospital in Hualien for further handling.
