This event is held in the Qinling Mountain range. Taibai Mountain, the main peak of the Qinling range, stretches across southern Shaanxi; Aotai Mountain lies to the west of Taibai, with an elevation of 3,475.9 meters, making it the second highest peak in Shaanxi and one of the most pristine areas in the Qinling Mountains. The Dragon Boat Festival coincides with the blooming of azaleas, and the mountains also feature diverse rock formations, crystal-clear ice steps and lakes, and cloud seas atop the peaks that resemble fairyland — allowing hikers to experience the changes of all four seasons. It is an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts seeking mountain crossings. The event offers four hiking routes for participants to choose from: the 6-day Aotai Traverse, the 4-day Taibai Mountain Greater North-South Traverse, the 3-day Taibai Mountain Southern-Southern Traverse, and the 2-day Aotai Mountain North-South Traverse, with route distances ranging from 50 to 130 kilometers.

As the saying goes, “The most spectacular views lie atop the most perilous peaks.” Though the Qinling Mountains boast breathtaking scenery, the diverse terrain also poses significant risks. Venturing into the mountains alone without understanding the routes, terrain, or lacking outdoor experience can be extremely dangerous. To promote the concepts of safe and environmentally-friendly hiking in the Qinling Mountains, and to allow nature-loving hikers to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and confidently explore the area’s beauty, Polar Star has supported the local professional outdoor club Xi’an Bingyan Exploration Travel in organizing this hiking extravaganza. The hiking conference will provide all registered participants with customized outdoor personal insurance, fully-equipped facilities and vehicles, with a guide-to-participant ratio of no less than 1:8, along with meticulous planning in terms of medical care and safety.
Currently, registration for the “Polar Star Ice Rock Aotai Hiking Conference” is fully open. This hiking event offers prizes and souvenirs worth a total of 40,000 yuan, and participants in the online “Hiking Pioneer” competition have the chance to win a QiYun three-layer hardshell jacket valued at 2,198 yuan.
