Tainan: Tainan’s popular hiking destination, Meiling, saw two unsettling incidents just the other day—one involving a hiker accidentally stepping on a ferret-badger, and another where a resident had their pants leg bitten through by one. Fortunately, no one was injured, but the startled hikers quickly reported the incidents to the Tainan Animal Disease Control and Prevention Office. The Agriculture Bureau also sent personnel up the mountain to hang warning signs, urging hikers to stay vigilant.
