The Taichung City Tourism Bureau has commenced the disaster recovery project for trails No. 2 and No. 3 in Xintian, Taichung City, starting March 15, 2019. It is expected that from April 10 to May 10, 2019, Trail No. 3 of the Xintian hiking trails will be closed for stair improvement works. On the 25th, the Tourism Bureau urged the public to cooperate with the construction schedule and related measures to avoid impacting the project and ensure safety.
The Tourism Bureau noted that the disaster recovery project for trails No. 2 and No. 3 in Xintian, Taichung City, includes repairs such as replacing and reinforcing trail stairs, slope stabilization, and related vegetation and facility improvements. Upon completion, the project is expected to provide better-equipped trails. The Bureau apologizes for any inconvenience caused during the construction period.
The Tourism Bureau stated that the Xintian hiking trail is a well-known trail in Taichung City, winding along the mountain terrain. As the trail sees heavy weekend visitor traffic, the third section (from the observation deck to the hexagonal pavilion) will be closed for construction to prevent risks. The second section, which only involves sporadic work, will remain open to visitors, who are advised to use it with caution and stay mindful of their safety.
