The Taichung City Tourism Bureau is undertaking disaster recovery and reconstruction work on Xintian Hiking Trails No. 2 and No. 3. Construction began on March 15, 2019 (108 year refers to Taiwan’s fiscal year), and Trail No. 3 is scheduled to be closed from April 10 to May 10, 2019, for step improvement works. On the 25th, the bureau urged the public to cooperate with the construction schedule and related measures to avoid impacting the project or compromising safety.
The Tourism Bureau explained that the disaster recovery and reconstruction project for Xintian Hiking Trails No. 2 and No. 3 includes replacing and reinforcing trail steps, stabilizing slopes, and improving vegetation and related facilities. Once completed, the project will provide better-equipped hiking trails. The bureau apologizes for any inconvenience caused during the construction period.
The Tourism Bureau noted that Xintian Hiking Trail is a popular trail in Taichung, winding along the mountain terrain. Due to heavy weekend foot traffic, to ensure visitor safety during the construction period, Trail No. 3 (from the viewing platform to the hexagonal pavilion) will be closed. Trail No. 2 will only have sporadic construction work and remains open to visitors; hikers are encouraged to use this trail and stay mindful of their safety.
