As part of the Taiping District “Taiping Loquat Festival” series, the Taiping District Office hosted a “Happiness & Fun Gathering” at Xinfu Park on the 23rd, and the Taiping Farmers’ Association held a “Loquat Industry & Hiking Event” at Dongbian Elementary School on the 24th. Despite the sharp drop in temperature and a drizzling sky, participants remained highly enthusiastic.
Owing to its uniquely favorable geographical environment, the loquats produced in Taiping District are of exceptional quality—large, vibrant, and exceptionally juicy and tender. The annual “Taiping Loquat Festival,” jointly organized by the district office and the farmers’ association, has become an important cultural highlight of the area.
On the 24th, despite the poor weather, the Taiping Farmers’ Association went ahead with its “Loquat Industry & Hiking Event” at Dongbian Elementary School. Participants set out early for a morning hike, enjoying scenic views of mountain farms along the way. A food fair was also held on-site, not only promoting Taiping loquats but also boosting local weekend tourism.
The grand finale of the 2019 Taiping Loquat Festival series—“Blossoming Loquat Festival!”—will take place at 7:00 AM on March 30th at the 921 Earthquake Memorial Park. Activities include a morning family-friendly walking tour, a loquat and local produce fair, exciting performances, challenge games, happy bingo, DIY workshops, a bubble experience camp, and a children’s painting competition.
