The existing two earthen houses of the former residence of Long Meiyurong (built in 1951) display simple daily necessities once used by the sisters, their biographies, black-and-white photos, and written accounts of the heroic deeds of the “Little Heroine Sisters.” During the peak tourist season each year, the site can accommodate small groups and visitors (with basic accommodations in yurts). Due to a lack of funding and investment, the reception conditions are far from meeting the demands of the tourism market. The Grassland Heroine Sisters Grassland Tourism Area is close to Hohhot and Baotou, with convenient transportation. Spanning over 1,700 square kilometers of vast grasslands, the area boasts rich ethnic customs, numerous historical and cultural relics, and a blend of ancient ethnic culture with modern hero imagery. It serves not only as an ideal destination for leisure, summer retreats, experiencing ethnic culture, and sightseeing, but also as an important base for promoting national spirit and conducting patriotic education. As the only memorial site in China that comprehensively introduces and showcases the heroic deeds of the “Grassland Heroine Sisters,” it is a rare and valuable tourism resource on the grassland.
