As the earliest foreign affairs reception tourist destination developed in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Xilamuren Grassland has long enjoyed an outstanding reputation both at home and abroad. Each year during the lush green summer and autumn seasons, it attracts over 300,000 domestic and international tourists for sightseeing and vacation. The Darhan Muminggan Joint Banner government, assessing the situation, aims to enhance the tourism reception environment, facilities, and services of Xilamuren Grassland. To achieve this, they have launched large-scale tourism development of the area’s tens of thousands of acres of high-quality natural grasslands through investment attraction. Leveraging the leading role of major tourism enterprises, they are shaping a new brand and image for Xilamuren Grassland tourism. It is within this context that the Paradise Grassland Tourist Scenic Area was established, with an investment of 15 million yuan, to create a large-scale grassland cultural tourism destination with strong Mongolian ethnic characteristics — capable of hosting 800 to 1,200 visitors per day: Paradise Grassland!

The Paradise Grassland Tourist Scenic Area is located by Swan Lake on Xilamuren Grassland (commonly known as “Zhaohe”), 90 kilometers north of Hohhot City. To the west of the scenic area lies Swan Lake, covering 6,000 mu of water surface; to the east stands the millennia-old Hongger Obo; to the south stretches the boundless, flat expanse of the vast grassland; and to the north are undulating, gentle hills. The Paradise Grassland Tourist Scenic Area is the largest, most upscale, and best-equipped large-scale grassland cultural tourism scenic spot on Xilamuren Grassland. It boasts some of the most beautiful natural grasslands in Zhaohe and is also the most accessible and conveniently located large-scale grassland cultural tourism destination near Hohhot City. The scenic area now features a 21-meter-diameter song-and-dance dining yurt, which can accommodate 240 diners at once; two 7-meter-diameter luxury khan-themed carved reception yurts; one luxury reception hall; two shops selling ethnic goods; 60 6-meter-diameter luxury Mongolian yurts; 22 luxury standard rooms; 30 5-meter-diameter three-person traditional yurts; 20 5-meter-diameter ground-mat traditional yurts; 20 staff and driver rooms; as well as a grand Obo Square surrounded by 18 towering Sülde poles, covering an area of 40m × 40m, and a bonfire square.

With the support and encouragement of colleagues, the Paradise Grassland Tourist Scenic Area strives to become a large-scale grassland cultural tourism destination integrating dining, drinking, entertainment, sightseeing, shopping, and fun.
