Grassland rock art reflects the totem worship and sacrificial practices of the ancient inhabitants of the Darhan Grassland, as well as being an ode to their labor. These carvings are etched deep in the desert and among the mountain ranges. The rock art tells the stories of the culture, art, and mysterious yet simple messages of ancient nomadic peoples. According to research by historians, the earliest works date back over ten thousand years, and the most recent ones are several hundred years old. Grassland rock art is abundant in the Tui-Miao Cultural Relics Protection Area of Chagan Obo and Durong Obo Sumu.
