The pristine white lotuses blend harmoniously with green leaves, complemented by purple lavender trailing along the pond’s edge, making it the most beautiful summer poetic scene in the northern suburbs of Taipei.

Japan-based low-cost carrier Peach Aviation is expected to launch a daily Taipei–Haneda route on August 18. In addition, two local Taiwanese budget carriers, Tigerair Taiwan and V Air, have also been allocated flight rights by the Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) and are expected to commence Taipei–Haneda services in early 2016. Last year, three juvenile green sea turtles were rescued in Wang’an, Penghu, with plans to release them back into the sea this summer. Magistrate Chen Kuang-fu stated: “The waters around Penghu see injured or sick sea turtles stranded every year, and the Penghu County Government has already developed effective rescue and care procedures. If we can provide educational conservation outreach during their healing and recuperation period—without disturbing the turtles—and integrate conservation awareness into tourism activities, we can eventually establish sea turtles as a brand of eco-tourism in Penghu.”
