Get a foot massage while waiting for your flight — Cathay Pacific’s Jade Lounge offers a homely vacation vibe

Cathay Pacific has completed a major renovation of its first-class “Jade Lounge” at Hong Kong International Airport, which has now reopened. Located in the northwest departure hall adjacent to Gate 63, the lounge spans 2,061 square meters and can accommodate 231 passengers.

The redesigned lounge was created by London-based Studioilse, led by Ilse Crawford, incorporating sensory and wellness elements to craft a relaxing environment for passengers. The space is framed around the concept of a modern home, aiming to evoke the comfort and ease of one’s own living space — from lighting to the food served. Additionally, abundant natural plants, walls in green onyx, peachwood, and bronze screens add a modern Asian touch.

The Jade Lounge is the first to introduce a bespoke fragrance blend of lavender, green bamboo, green tea, and jasmine to enhance passengers’ sensory experience. Furthermore, Cathay Pacific states that wellness and comfort are key highlights of the lounge, hence the introduction of free foot massage services. The lounge also features eight tranquil private rest rooms and 14 shower cubicles. There are also dining options such as the Food Hall and Light Bites Corner for travelers to enjoy.

First-class passengers departing on Cathay Pacific flights or transiting through Hong Kong, “Marco Polo Club” Diamond members, and “oneworld” Emerald members can all access the Jade Lounge facilities. The lounge operates daily from 5:30 AM until the departure of the last flight of the day.
