Have you planned your summer vacation yet? The Kaohsiung City Government’s Tourism Bureau has launched the “2015 FUN Summer—Kaohsiung Fun Abounds” campaign, featuring 20 summer activities. These include 10 major Kaohsiung-themed events and 10 popular summer camp programs, perfect for families and friends traveling together.

Xu Chuansheng, Director of the Kaohsiung City Tourism Bureau, recommends the newly launched “Kaohsiung City Adventure—Lightweight Triathlon,” which takes Kaohsiung’s edgy street sports tourism and presents it in a fun triathlon format. Combining kayaking on the water, urban wind chasing, and a costume night run, participants explore the beautiful Love River and historic streets and alleys, blending travel with sightseeing.

For families with kids during the summer break, the 10 summer camp activities include bird-watching at Singsong Wetlands, hunter school experiences, visits to the oyster-farming village of Keziliao, guided tours of butterfly habitats at Jinshi Lake, cable waterskiing at Lotus Pond, recreational activities on the Love River, magic-themed stationery workshops at Fulmo, a train-themed Monopoly game, cultural experiences with the Songjiang Battle Array, and creative tours of Dashe. These activities offer hands-on experiences, exploration, stories, culture, and fun—making them an ideal summer educational trip for families.

The 10 major themed activities planned by Kaohsiung include Broadway at Shoushan Zoo, Fantawild Lunar World in Tienliao, Yuhbao Beer Festival, Qimei Cycling Season, Longan Honey Culture Festival at Dagangshan, True Feelings at Shoushan, Yong’an Marine Outdoor Education, Cijin Black Sand Arts Festival, the Urban Lightweight Triathlon, and the Southern Taiwan Marine Tourism Season.
