Ulan Mountain

Ulan Mountain, located at the northern end of Qingnian Street in Kazuo County, is a solitary mountain that blends seamlessly with the county town. With gardens within the mountain and mountains within the gardens, it combines natural and cultural landscapes, making it an ideal spot for leisure, fitness, and sightseeing.

In the past, Da Chengzi in Kazuo County was described as having the "Nine Dragons Playing with a Pearl," referring to nine hilltops surrounding the town that seemed to gaze inward, known as the "Nine Dragons," while a solitary mountain in the town—the North Mountain—was called the "Pearl." In 2002, during a comprehensive urban planning effort, the county government recognized the potential of this "Pearl," redesigned the mountain, and renamed it Ulan Mountain, aiming to transform it into an urban park that harmoniously integrates natural and cultural elements. Today, Ulan Mountain presents itself in a brand-new light. The Martyrs' Memorial Tower stands on the mountainside in the southern part of Ulan Mountain. It was originally built on August 1, 1960, and renovated on August 1, 2003.

From the top of Ulan Mountain, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the county town's rows of high-rise buildings, crisscrossing streets, bustling pedestrians, and ceaseless traffic flow—all painting a vivid picture of the town’s rapid development.

In spring, peach and apricot blossoms blanket the mountain in hues of pink and white, prompting visitors to pose among the flowers and capture the picturesque beauty of blossoms against human faces. In summer, thousands of trees are lush and green, accompanied by birdsong, floral fragrance, fluttering butterflies, and bees gathering nectar. In autumn, the gentle mountain breeze carries waves of red foliage, immersing people in a realm of hope and aspiration. In winter, the cypresses on the mountain remain evergreen. Though the color palette is subdued, when covered with snow, Ulan Mountain is draped in silvery white, exuding a sense of purity. This jewel embraced by the Nine Dragons will continue to shine brilliantly in the years to come.
