The tourism industry in Manzhouli is uniquely characterized by a developing framework that equally emphasizes grassland sightseeing, red tourism, and exotic cultural experiences. In 2007, the city received a total of 4.055 million tourists, marking a 15.5% increase, and achieved total tourism revenue of 2.71 billion yuan, up 16.9%. Particularly noteworthy is the rapid development of red tourism. The first and second phases of the Red Tourism Exhibition Hall were renovated in 2005 from the former Sino-Soviet talks meeting rooms, and the “Red Descendants” exhibition hall was built in July 2007, with a total construction area of 1,880 square meters. The Red Tourism Exhibition Hall centers on the theme of Manzhouli’s international red secret communication line, covering eight sections: Manzhouli’s Red Secret Communication Line, Road to Truth, the 6th Congress, Dawn of Victory, Tracing Red Roots (physical exhibits), Sino-Soviet Talks Meeting Rooms, Comintern, and Red Descendants. Manzhouli’s red tourism projects have been included in the National Red Tourism Development Plan Outline, making it one of the 100 classic red tourism destinations in China. It serves as an important platform for ideological and political education, as well as a key vehicle for promoting and cultivating national spirit. It has become a renowned tourist destination for both domestic and international visitors to explore, trace history, and experience revolutionary inspiration.
