Manzhouli National Gate Scenic Area

The Manzhouli National Gate Scenic Area is a landmark tourist attraction in Manzhouli City. It is a key site of national red tourism and an important part of the China-Russia Border Tourism Area, a national 5A-level tourist attraction. Covering an area of 200,000 square meters, the scenic area includes the National Gate, Boundary Marker No. 41, the Red Tourism Exhibition Hall, the Exhibition Hall of the Sixth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and the ruins of the Manzhouli Red Secret Communication Line. Among them, the fifth-generation National Gate is currently the largest land port National Gate in China, standing opposite the Russian National Gate. It is a must-visit site for tourists coming to Manzhouli.

Fifth-generation National Gate: Built in 2008, it is currently the largest land port National Gate in China, featuring an overall post-industrial architectural style. Beneath the gate, there are two broad-gauge tracks and one standard-gauge track that connect with Russia. On the first floor of the north and south towers inside the gate, bas-reliefs depict the origin and evolution of the five generations of National Gates and the treaties and agreements related to the boundary changes near Manzhouli. The second floor houses an observation deck and a historical exhibition hall of Manzhouli, as well as photos of party and state leaders visiting and inspecting the Manzhouli National Gate Scenic Area.

Red Tourism Exhibition Hall: Renovated and expanded from the former Sino-Soviet talks meeting room, it is themed “Promoting Red History and Inheriting Revolutionary Spirit.” It showcases the glorious journey of the early founders and leaders of the Communist Party of China in the 1920s and 1930s as they strived to build the Party and the nation, resisted foreign aggression, sought revolutionary truth, saved the Chinese nation, and established New China. It also highlights the arduous experiences of the revolutionary descendants of the early leaders of the CPC, who endured hardships and traveled through Manzhouli to study and live in Soviet international children’s homes during turbulent times. The exhibition hall consists of three parts: the Sino-Soviet Talks Meeting Room, the Vital Link to the Comintern, and the Descendants of Early CPC Revolutionaries.

Exhibition Hall of the Sixth National Congress of the Communist Party of China: The Sixth National Congress of the Communist Party of China was a significant event in the Party’s history. On the 90th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, the Manzhouli Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government decided to build a red tourism exhibition hall centered on the Sixth National Congress. This exhibition hall replicates the original site of the “Silver Villa” in the suburbs of Moscow where the Congress was held, at a 1:1 scale, within the National Gate Scenic Area. Centered around the theme of the Sixth National Congress, it comprehensively presents the challenging journey of the only National Congress of the CPC held abroad with the help of the Comintern in the history of the Party. The hall covers a construction area of 3,000 square meters and has three floors. Focusing primarily on the Sixth National Congress, it includes a restored meeting scene, displays of documents and photos from the Sixth Congress, as well as models of key figures from the event.
