Dalai Lake Tourist Area in Manzhouli City

Also known as Hulun Lake, Dalai Lake is the fifth largest lake in China and the largest in Inner Mongolia. The Dalai Lake Biosphere Reserve is located in the western part of the Hulunbuir Grassland in Inner Mongolia, under the jurisdiction of Manzhouli City, covering a total area of 3,253 square kilometers. It is a comprehensive nature reserve primarily dedicated to protecting rare birds, wetland ecosystems, and grasslands. The area features vast waters, continuous wetlands, and abundant food sources, making it an ideal habitat for numerous migratory birds. It also serves as a stopover for migratory birds traveling between Oceania and Northeast Asia. The reserve is home to 448 species of seed plants, 30 species of fish, 35 species of mammals, and 297 species of birds (including 8 Class I protected bird species such as the red-crowned crane and the white-naped crane, as well as 28 Class II protected bird species such as the Eurasian spoonbill and the whooper swan).
