Inner Mongolia Liquor Culture Museum

The Inner Mongolia Liquor Culture Museum is the earliest corporate museum in the Inner Mongolia region. It houses precious cultural relics closely related to liquor from various dynasties and regions across Inner Mongolia. Its prized exhibit—an ancient Han Dynasty liquor—traces the brewing history of the Hetao region back to the Western Han Dynasty and provides physical evidence for the origin of Chinese liquor culture.

The Inner Mongolia Liquor Culture Museum is located within the Hetao Liquor Industry Industrial Park in Hangjinhouqi. As a regional-level museum, it is the first corporate museum in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, covering an area of 1,150

square meters, with a total investment of 1.2 million yuan, and was completed in August 2002.

The lobby features the classical architecture of the Han Dynasty, majestic and towering. The museum, themed “Golden Cups and Fine Liquor, Noble Steeds and Heroic Spirits—The Liquor Culture of Inner Mongolia,” is divided into five sections: “Grassland Brewing Art, Time-Honored Tradition,” “Liquor Vessels, Bearing the Weight of History,” “Drinking Ware, A Visual Delight,” “Liquor Customs and Ethnic Fervor,” and “Fragrant Brews, Bonds Across the Land.” These sections collectively summarize the five-thousand-year history of Inner Mongolia’s liquor culture, showcasing the bold and heroic character of the grassland people. It has become a dedicated venue for promoting and displaying the liquor culture of Inner Mongolia’s ethnic regions.

In October 2004, the Hetao Liquor Culture Museum was designated as an official tourism site by the Northwest Scenic Tourism Federation.
