Lianjiangkou Ancient City Site

The Lianjiangkou Ancient City Site is located on the Jiangkouzui hill at the confluence of the Lianjiang and Beijiang Rivers in Lianjiangkou Town, Yingde City. It dates back to the Western Han Dynasty and was discovered in 1962. Numerous rope-patterned roof tiles and tubular tiles were unearthed from the cultural layer, along with pottery items such as urns and jars decorated with geometric patterns, rice-character motifs, and wave designs. Bronze artifacts including bronze axes and suspension knives were also found. According to the "Commentary on the Water Classic", Zhao Tuo of the Nanyue Kingdom once established the "Kuipu Pass" here and built the "City of Ten Thousand Men".
