Shidunling Tomb

The Shidunling Tomb is a cultural relic protection unit of Yingde City.

The Shidunling Tomb is located in Shidunling Village, Hengjiang Town, Yingde City. Dating back to the fourth year of the Jianwu era during the Southern Qi Dynasty of the Southern Dynasties period, the tomb faces 270 degrees and is a rectangular brick-chambered tomb, measuring 1.57 meters in length, 0.32 meters in width, and 0.42 meters in height. The left and right walls are constructed with three to four layers of horizontally laid bricks, which slightly incline inward as they rise, and are sealed at the top with one to three layers of horizontally laid bricks laid in a corbelled fashion to form the roof. The front wall is built with horizontally laid bricks, and the floor is paved with vertically laid bricks. The sides of the tomb bricks are inscribed with leaf-vein patterns and the inscription “Fourth Year of Jianwu, Great State” (497 AD). Funeral objects were placed on the eastern and western sides of the tomb, including a four-handled celadon-glazed pottery jar, celadon-glazed pottery bowls, silver rings, small silver bead ornaments, and three Persian silver coins (two of which are damaged). The coins are circular, 2.7 cm in diameter, 0.1 cm thick, and weigh 2.3 grams. They were unearthed inside a cinnabar-coated wooden box, which had decayed, leaving only fragments and faint traces of cinnabar.

In 1995, the People's Government of Yingde City designated it as a cultural relic protection unit.
